While the people of north Texas have not been hit as hard by the
economy as many other areas of the country, people here in Ft Worth are
still asking themselves when will things get better? We are asking
ourselves how might we cut back, tighten the belt or pinch our pennies?
Well, my friends, we might not have the answers. But one thing I can
tell you is that people in and around Ft. Worth are definitely spending
more time at home these days because of the lack of finances to go out.
What does this ultimately lead to? Normal homeowners like you and I are
finding ourselves wanting to update our homes since we are spending more
time there instead of out for the evening in downtown Ft Worth.
What are some ways we can make changes to our home without breaking the
bank? I thought you’d never ask. One of the best updates that we can
make to our homes begins with a simple new coat of paint. Even if
you can’t afford to paint the whole house, begin with just a single wall
or a single room.
Call a
professional painter, such as Arlington based
Bruce Roberts Painter.
Bruce has been in the business for over 27 years. Not only does he do a
wonderful job at an affordable price, but he can come to your home and
help you
select
the right paint color. Instead of going to the local paint store and
bringing home different swatches, Bruce will bring his collection of
paint colors and
faux
finishes. Then in your home with your lighting, he will help you
select the best color combination for the project.
Secondly, fill in bare space on the walls. Check out Ft. Worth
Starving Artist art shows and you can find some really good deals on
some very good artwork. By just adding one or two new pieces, it can
totally changed the ambiance of the room.
Next, may I suggest getting new curtains in at least one of the main
rooms of the house? By adding a little more contrast between the walls
(are they
newly painted?) and the curtains, it make a formerly drab room seem
brand new. Many Ft Worth area window covering stores are having big
sales just to draw people in and who better to take advantage of this,
than you?
Adding accessories to a room is another inexpensive way to improve your
home. A new lamp, shelving fixture or candle set, for
example, would be a great way to add a change to any room in your home.
New throw pillows or an area rug can also have the same effect.
Finally, adding a full length mirror to the entryway or
bedroom can not only modernize the look of any room, but can make
the room look immensely bigger than it actually is. Plus, you can get a
good look at yourself before heading out the door in the morning to
conquer the world and conquer the day. (or at least conquer Ft Worth
rush hour traffic?)
Check out discount stores anywhere in the Ft Worth metroplex area. There
are many stores like Wal-Mart, Target, Kohl’s, Bed,Bath and Beyond and
IKEA that offer modern
updates at reasonable prices. Who knows? By just implementing one or
two of the updates, your home might be the next stop on the Ft Worth
Tour of Homes.
